About the event
Ipswich Basketball Club is managed by volunteers and requires a significant fundraising effort in order to operate. Our Basketball 'Skills Challenge' is the first of many opportunities throughout the year to engage with the community and raise some funds to allow us to do what we do!
Last year we raised nearly £3000 and the fundraising made a huge difference. We'd like to get near this again if possible! This is for all players from U12 right through to U18 including academy kids.
This year is going to be much more fun and competitive. Players can enter as a team or individual (individuals will be placed into a team) and will compete at a series of stations to gain points for their team on a 10 minute rotation basis. Rotations will include free throws, lay-ups etc. and they will be awarded points for the team.
There will also be competitions such as NBA 2 ball, three pointer, dribble knockout where players can also win points for their team. Younger players can also bet on academy players in a dunk contest. There will of course be lots of prizes!
There will also be a raffle, face painting and tuck shop. We could also encourage team coordination, fancy dress from the teams.
