Ipswich Basketball Club is proud to announce the inaugural Lee Linton‑Hodges Tribute Event, a celebration honouring the life, legacy, and impact of one of Ipswich’s most influential basketball figures.

Saturday 1st August

Copleston Sports Centre

3:00pm

The tribute game will bring together former teammates, opponents, and coaches from across Lee’s remarkable National League career — a journey that began and ended in Ipswich, and included standout spells with the Essex & Herts Leopards, Essex Rebels, Hemel Storm, and Barking Abbey Basketball Academy.

Supporting Winston’s Wish

This event will raise funds for Winston’s Wish, a charity providing free and accessible online grief support to children and young people (aged 25 and under) across the UK who are bereaved or facing the death of someone important.

More Than Basketball — A Community Day

Alongside the tribute game, the day will feature:

  • A community BBQ

  • Family‑friendly activities

  • Fundraising stalls and games

Our aim is to create a warm, community‑centred atmosphere that reflects Lee’s spirit — a day about people coming together, not just basketball.

Get Involved

We are currently seeking event sponsors. If you or your organisation would like to support this special day, please contact: Nick Drane — ndrane@copleston.suffolk.sch.uk

We also welcome volunteers and ideas for fundraising activities (cake stalls, face painting, games, etc.). If you’d like to help, please get in touch.

A New Annual Tradition

It is our intention for this tribute to become an annual fixture in the basketball calendar — a day that brings people together, celebrates community, and honours Lee for years to come.
