Ipswich Men Ready to Bounce Back in NBL Division 2

A new era begins for Endeavour Ipswich Basketball’s senior men’s programme this season, with Joel Keeble stepping in as Head Coach and leading a talented group determined to return the club to the NBL’s new top flight.

Joining Coach Keeble on the sideline for the 2025/26 campaign is Nick Newman and Tom Kelly, two of Ipswich Basketball’s finest. And running the show behind the scenes is team manager, Simon Wood.

After relegation last season, the goal is clear: bounce straight back up and re-establish Ipswich among the country’s elite.

“We know what’s at stake this season,” said Head Coach Joel Keeble. “Ipswich belongs in the top tier of the NBL. We’ve had a tough couple of years, but this group is hungry, motivated, and ready to fight for promotion.”

With some crowd favourite returnees in Ellis Haggith, Blake Reid, Angus Hill, Antony Vincent, and Luke Mascall-Wright, coupled with former Ipswich standouts Jake Eynon, AJ Vega, Sam Wood, Bertie Hill, and Matt Naylor returning, and some new blood in Florian Damptey and Aodhan Daly, the senior members of the team are deep in all positions. Further enhanced with academy standouts Matt Liddamore, Jaz Mussington, Tim Rafiu, and Noah Wilkinson, the team is ready to go to battle in the blue and white.

“It’s exciting to have such a balanced squad,” Keeble continued. “We’ve got guys who know the culture of this club inside out, and others who are coming in fresh and raising the level. The depth we have this year will be a big strength.”

For a programme that has seen its share of turbulence in recent years, stability is now the priority. The men’s team is looking not just for success on the court, but to set the standard for the next generation of Ipswich players.

“We want to be role models for the young people in the club,” said Eynon. “When they watch the men’s team, they should see the pathway to the top. That’s a responsibility we take seriously.”

The campaign technically started with a 20–0 awarded win over University of Hertfordshire after their withdrawal, but the real test comes on Saturday as Ipswich travel to Oaklands Wolves – a clash between two sides tipped to be promotion contenders.

With high stakes and a season full of ambition ahead, Ipswich are calling on the community to get behind them.

“We need all the support we can get,” Keeble urged. “Home games at Copleston should be a fortress. When the crowd is behind us, it makes a massive difference. Come down, get loud, and be part of this journey.”

I really liked the message in this post about bouncing back after setbacks it’s something everyone can relate to. It reminded me of how nursing students face similar challenges when preparing for exams. Sometimes, using a TEAS Exam Help Service can give them structure and direction, helping them recover from low scores and keep improving, just like athletes learning from a tough game to come back stronger.
