Junior Wrap: Teams push for playoff positioning continues

As the squad’s near the end of the regular season, many Ipswich junior sides are making a push for playoff positioning.

Among them is the Under 14 Girls, who won at home against Northants Titans 88-24. Nina Wadda led the way with a commanding 31, while Kelci Woodgate and Tanaia Robinson also hit double figures with 17 and 14 points.

In a hugely important clash at the top of the South East Premier Division, the Under 14 Boys grabbed a huge win over 4th place London Lions in their hunt to reach top 2 playoff seeding. Jaziah Mussington top scored once more with 30, while Gael Jacobs Da Silva added 16.

The Under 16 Girls are also looking to secure home court advantage in the playoffs, and took another step towards that goal with a 96-44 win away at Solent Kestrels on Sunday morning.

Unfortunately, our Under 16 Boys look likely to miss out on postseason basketball, losing 73-50 at HQ to Oaklands Wolves. The offence never really got going, through Robbie Cruickshanks led the way with 18, while Ben Thomas scored 11.

Also likely to miss out are our Under 18 Men, who lost at home to Sussex Storm by 113-72.
