The Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club Senior Women enjoyed a dominant weekend at Copleston, winning in WNBL Action on Saturday against the Manchester Mystics to move to 4-1 and then, on Sunday, against Milton Keynes in the National Cup.
Saturday’s performance saw Ipswich start slowly, going behind by ten points in the first period, before the team were sparked into life going on a 22-0 run to finish the quarter up 26-14. Fortunes didn’t improve much for the visitors in the second quarter as the Ipswich onslaught continued, again winning the period by double figures, taking a 51-27 lead into the interval.
The third quarter saw the scoring slow for both teams, with Manchester winning the period 15-13. However, this was not enough to impact the final score in the game, so when Ipswich extended the lead by seven in the final period the Suffolk side completed an impressive 80-51 win.

On Sunday, Ipswich turned their attention to the defence of the National Cup. Division Two side Milton Keynes Breakers were welcomed to Copleston Sports Centre, a team who have made a promising start to life in the WNBL. The game followed the form book, with no upset, as the holders dispatched their opponents 106-54, to complete a successful weekend.
