Weekly Junior Wrap: U12 Mixed team secure their first ever win at HQ

The junior teams had a successful weekend this week with 6 wins across the age groups.


The U12 Mixed Team won their first ever game against MK this weekend winning 65-59 after being down by 12 at the half. Jacob Greaves had an impressive 29 points supported by Freya Drane with 15.


Saturday saw the U14 Boys win on the road to BAD Thunder finishing a close game with a 69-66 final score. Top scorer, Harry Gladstone, scored 27 points followed by Gael Jacobs Da Silva with 21.


U14 Girls secured a win against Oaklands College Wolves at HQ this weekend with a big score of 67-39. Nuria Leal Barbosa top scored with 20 points, followed by Kuini Mate with 14. Rosie Smythe also joined in on the action scoring 10.

Unfortunately, the U16 Boys were unsuccessful this weekend after a tough loss on the road against a good West Herts Warriors. With a final score of 37-85, Jaziah Mussington contributed 12 points.


U16 Girls scrapped out a one-point win at home against London Elite on Saturday finishing the game 53-52. Tanaia Robinson lead Ipswich with 13 points alongside Kelci Woodgate (10) and Kara Bassil (9)


The U18 Women also secured their first win of the season in an away game against Team Solent Kestrels. Katie Yorke led the scorers with 18 points with Lauren Liddamore following with 16 and Hannah Gray with 14. The women came out with a 84-46 end score.


Finally, the U18 Boys closed out Sunday with a huge 106-101 OT winning score on the road against Bedford Thunder advancing them to the next round of the National Cup. Robbie Cruickshanks led the scorers with an incredible 44 points, along with Daniel Mann (17) and Fin Morgan (13)
