Weekly Junior Wrap: U16 Girls go 2-for-2 in opening weekend

As well as the season starting for our Senior squads, many of our Junior teams got their first competitive action of the season this past weekend. Here is a roundup of scores in our first Weekly Wrap of the 2022-23 season!


The Under 14 Girls started off with a bang, winning 87-30 away at Oaklands. Nina Wadda scored 22 while Tanaia Robinson was right behind her with 21.


The Under 14 Boys lost their first game 66-92 at home to a tough Baltic Stars side. Jaziah Mussington led Ipswich scorers with 18, while Jake Woolbridge and Isaac Little had 15 and 11 points respectively.


DeAnna Carrington got 17 and 10 points respectively in two wins for the Under-16 Girls

Cerys Leach led the Under 16 Girls to a huge comeback win against Richmond with 35 points, winning 70-67 in the end. DeAnna Carrington supported with 10 points while Maia Wiseman had 9.


On Sunday, our Under 18 Academy Men lost 72-92 to a fierce Haringey Hawks side, despite 21 points from Harrison Gregg, as well as 14 from Tyreese Perry-Huggins and 13 from Charlie Smythe in his Ipswich debut.


Finally, in their second game of the opening weekend, the Under 16 Girls followed up Saturday’s league win by advancing in the National Cup, winning 105-28 against Luton in front of a lively home crowd. Cerys Leach picked up where she left off on Saturday with another 42 points, taking her total for the weekend to 77. Issy Roberts scored 18 and DeAnna Carrington had another strong game with 17.
