Weekly Junior Wrap: U18 Women dominate in their weekend win

Sunday morning saw the U12 Mixed team lose 78-55 to Cambridge Cats.  Jacob Geaves got back into action scoring 28 points for the Suffolk side whilst Freya Drane added another 10 points to the scoreline.


The U14 Girls took an unfortunate loss against Reading Rockets on the road on Saturday. Top scorer Kuini Mate contributed a huge 28 points while Nuria Barbosa supported with 13.


In a heartbreaking fashion, the U14 Boys lost at home to Oaklands in an early Saturday morning game which saw Gael Jacobs Da Silva score an astounding 47 points to lead the top scorers. Franek Wojtan had his debut in the top scorers list with 10 points while Khaminai Fox De Silva added another 8.


An unlucky weekend for the U16 Girls as they took a loss at HQ against Richmond Knights with the game closing out 49-79.  Coach Manning described the team as being on ‘the wrong end of the score but having the right type of performance’.  Despite this, Kara Bassil led the team with 20 points while Elisa Njapou contributed 13. A 7-piece performance was also executed from Tanaia Robinson and Anna Koscielny-Lamaire.


London Thunder took control of the U16 Boys game on Saturday causing the boys to take an 83-55 loss. Jaziah Mussington had 14 and Tim Rafiu followed closely behind with 13.


The U18 Men found themselves in a close battle on Saturday afternoon against Canterbury Crusaders. Contributions from Charlie Smythe (24), Sean McEvoy (15) and Shayne Alexander (10) aided the teams score of 71 points in the 82-71 loss.


A good day at the office for the U18 Women as they dominated in a win at HQ against London Thunder. Top scorer Anna Cartwright had 22 points while her teammates Katie Yorke and Issy Roberts joint scored with 18. Eliza Bartholomew also got in on the action scoring 16 points for the team. Their win awards them this week’s Team Performance of the Week.
